The payment of trustees
Governance:
Charities are allowed to pay trustees for additional services they provide to their charity over and above normal trustee duties.
The payment of trustees
It is recommended that trustees check their charity’s governing document to see if there is a suitable power which would allow the employment of trustees. If there is no suitable authority, the Charity Commission will be prepared to provide one where they are satisfied the arrangement is in the interests of the charity and that the charity will be receiving value for money. A form can be downloaded from the Charity Commission website to apply for authority to pay trustees.
