FreeWills and Attend: a partnership to support your legacy

Do you want to have a long-term, positive impact on your community?

If you're reading this as a volunteer group member, Trustee, or service user, you are probably someone who cares deeply about their impact on the community around them. Perhaps you've already planned your time and money contributions to your favourite causes for the next few months. But the longer-term future is less predictable and more challenging to plan. Did you know that over 60% of adults in the UK don't leave a will? This can make it difficult to impossible to perpetuate their legacy in the community.

Writing a valid will is a complex process even before considering the different types of gifts and legacies that a will can include. Using a solicitor is one way to avoid problems, but this can be expensive and time-consuming. Attend can provide an alternative. Our official partner, FreeWills, can help you create a will for free, and using Attend’s will service does not oblige you to leave a gift in your will to Attend – although we hope you will consider it! FreeWills is the second-largest will writer in the UK and a full member of the Society of Will Writers. Wills written by the FreeWills organisation are responsible for over £95 million in charitable donations. A well-considered, up to date will offers you peace of mind, avoids the expenses and frustrations arising in the absense of a will, and ensures that your legacy is upheld.

You can access our FreeWils service here at https://www.freewills.co.uk/charity/attend and read more about charitable giving structures in the attachments below. If you belong to an Attend member organisation, you can use these these attachments as templates and adapt them to support charitable giving to your own organisation.

Many people choose to remember family, friends, and charities that have made a positive difference in their lives or are an essential cause to them. When you make your will, please consider leaving a gift to Attend or one of our member organisations. Through your donation, we can continue to link communities with the NHS, helping support its contribution through volunteering and fundraising.
