Legacies

People can leave money or property to charity in their will. These are known as bequests or legacies.

There are different forms in which a legacy can be left. A pecuniary legacy is a specified sum of money or a specified item of value such as property or shares. Alternatively it may be a residuary legacy, which means a percentage of the net value of their estate.
