Eating Disorders

An eating disorder is a type of dependency whereby abnormal eating habits develop.

Eating becomes the object of dependency and can include the consumption of too much or too little food. Eating disorders can develop when food is used as a coping mechanism for certain feelings, such as loneliness, depression, anger, anxiety, stress, sadness or boredom. People with eating disorders have said that the eating disorder is a means of maintaining control of their life. The causes of eating disorders are complex and affect both men and women.
