Telecare can help to provide peace of mind and independence for carers and the people for whom they are caring.
Its purpose is to help facilitate greater independence among those who are being cared for and to allow the carer to leave the house or get a decent night’s sleep knowing that they will be alerted if there is an emergency.
Telecare consists of a range of sensors positioned within the home and in the event of an emergency such as a gasleak, fire or if the person who is being cared for is in difficulty and requires assistance, the carer or monitoring centre is notified.
